MySci professional development for teachers heads to St. Louis Zoo, Forest Park

Two out of the four MySci teacher professional development (PD) days were completed this week. We trained 52 teachers who are new to MySci, as well as 30 returning teachers. As you may know, MySci gives early elementary students the chance to study science through inquiry. And this year, we took part of our PD on the road to give the TEACHERS the opportunity to learn through inquiry.

Limes and Coconuts

Being an early childhood science educator requires an ability to engage children on their level (physically and metaphorically). So imagine a small group of children sitting on the “fallen log” in the Investigation Station, and the Program Specialist either sitting on the floor or, squatting on a stump.
