MySci Blog

It’s an exciting time for the MySci team, as we are proud to announce the launch of our very own blog. However, you should know that we use the term “our” blog somewhat reluctantly. That’s because it will, in a way, be “your” blog.  Click here for more...

A special moment during the first week of the school year

Tanya Cross, program specialist, writes about her first week back on the road this school year with one of MySci’s Investigation Stations:
It felt magnificent being back on the vehicle! Steve Kessel and I were at Wilkinson ECC Elementary School. We had our hands full of students ranging from excited beginning kindergarteners to veteran-but-still-entertained second-graders. It felt good seeing some of the same kids from last year grow up!

One girl in particular surprised me. She has some limited special needs. Last year, she just cried when she came on the vehicle and would not touch anything. Surprisingly, this year she threw a fit to come onto the vehicle, and she was into everything! She went into the cave, she felt the pelts on the table, and she enjoyed the puppets in the environment room.

Experiences like that bring us joy while working with children on the MySci Investigation Station.
