It's hard to believe that the Mysci project is 4 and one-half years old. Thanks to the vision of the Monsanto Educational Fund and Washington University Science Outreach, the Investigation Stations have rolled through hundreds of schools.

It's hard to believe that the Mysci project is 4 and one-half years old. Thanks to the vision of the Monsanto Educational Fund and Washington University Science Outreach, the Investigation Stations have rolled through hundreds of schools. Thousands of children have enjoyed their time exploring plants, animals, and earth science while on board. Some of our targeted school districts; University City, Wellston, and Pattonville, were with us from the very beginning, as we were getting our program off the ground. Their feedback, on surveys and in informal conversations, were instrumental in improving our program.
Mysci's success lies in several areas, including collaboration skills and analyzing data. Our new mural is a perfect example. Because we return to the same schools year after year, it is important to keep the "wow" factor strong, as well as develop new curriculum for engaging teachers and students. Our graphic designer extraordinaire, Denny Smith, from the Saint Louis Science Center, worked with us to design our new pond mural. Using Missouri Department of Conservation posters and guides, we came up with the pond plants and animals that we thought children needed to explore. Denny created this beautiful mural for us to use and enjoy. We look forward to including it in our program.
