MySci will begin its fifth school year the week of Sept. 21 with visits by Investigation Stations to two elementary schools in St. Louis.

MYSCI INITIATIVE PUTS ANIMALS IN THE CLASSROOM

Science Alive: Learning, Leading and Connecting, an action research project started by two MySci program specialists, has put live animals in classrooms at Most Holy Trinity School in north St. Louis and Duchesne Elementary School in Florissant, Mo.
 
ROBINSON ELEMENTARY SCHOOL EXPLORES SCIENCE WITH MYSCIi

Students at Robinson Elementary School, 803 Couch Ave. in Kirkwood, will learn about Missouri’s natural formations and wildlife without leaving school when they step aboard the MySci Investigation Station coming to Robinson on April 13, 14 and 15.

MYSCI TO CELEBRATE EARTH DAY ON SUNDAY AT FOREST PARK

For the third consecutive year, the MySci program will participate in Earth Day activities at Forest Park. A MySci Investigation Station will be located near The Muny grounds from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday (April 20).
 
MYSCI LAUNCHES WEBSITE

The MySci program recently announced the expansion of their educational outreach capabilities to include an online component. Their Web site, www.mysci.info, will serve as a resource for area teachers and as a portal to engage students and provide necessary information about the inquiry-based MySci program.  
MYSCI INVESTIGATION STATION VISITS DELMAR-HARVARD ELEMENTARY, INSPIRES SCIENTISTS OF TOMORROW

In its second year of outreach to St. Louis elementary schools, the MySci Investigation Station will visit Delmar-Harvard elementary and allow students to engage in innovative, hands-on science learning. Children from kindergarten through second grade will explore a Missouri limestone cave, enter a woodlands area and interact with live bugs and insects within this state-of-the-art traveling classroom. Highly trained education specialists will be on hand to assist both the teachers and the students as they explore animal, plant and earth sciences.
